Microsoft Rumored to Hold an Event Regarding the Company’s Future With Bethesda

Microsoft might finally complete its major acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. The deal reportedly set Microsoft back by a whopping $7.5 billion but will significantly enhance its gaming library to rival that of Sony and PlayStation. The company is set to complete the deal and all that entails it in the coming weeks.
Rumors are already doing the rounds, suggesting Microsoft will host an event to divulge the future of both the companies.

Microsoft to hold an event in mid-March
On the latest episode of the GamesBeat Decides podcast, gaming journalist Jeffrey Grubb revealed some rumors about the event. On a discord question that asked about the possibility of an event between Bethesda and Microsoft following the acquisition, he confirmed it will happen.
“In my understanding, yeah, I think they are going to have an event for this.”

He believes the event may not be of a massive scale but will provide a lot of insight on the future of both companies. He further talked about how it will be a major milestone leading up to E3 for both Bethesda and Microsoft.
“Leading up to E3, like what’s going to be happening. I think this is one of the milestones for Microsoft before E3 where once the deal closes, they will talk about it.”

What the event might talk about
Bethesda ranks among the biggest gaming studios in the world. It currently has titles in all major genres, from The Elder Scrolls to the ever-popular Fallout series. The company has future IPs like Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield lined up that can be ground-breaking.
One of the major talking points that might be addressed in the event is the exclusivity factor. Bethesda games are currently available on all consoles, including PlayStation and Nintendo. Even though the company has revealed that there are no plans to remove any games from the other consoles, there might be a possibility that upcoming games are exclusive to Xbox and Windows Gaming.
