It won’t be an overstatement if Arsenal’s current season is termed as a disaster in making. Three managers, two captains and 31 points dropped. It’s going from bad to worse. They have thrown all their tricks from their bag to halt their slide. Unai Emery didn’t worked out for them, he was sacked. Freddie Ljungberg was appointed, even he didn’t work out, he was replaced. Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s former assistant manager, is now appointed as the head coach to resolve the crisis. Though their problems don’t just stop at their managerial appointment, instead it starts there.

Their squad’s over all quality has been in question for a while now. But one aspect of their team which has usually been unquestioned is their harmony. At least under Arsene Wenger, it was always one happy family. Though the manager has changed and so has the status of squad harmony at the Emirates. In fact it’s been a full blown crisis, star players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi, and Mesut Özil have all been linked with a move away from the Emirates. With the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette reportedly trying to force a move away due to the team’s current inability to compete for trophies and the lack of Champions League football.

As quoted by the club’s biggest mouthpiece, David Ornstein, who was quoted in his blog stating, “Some of the senior players were skeptical and underwhelmed about Arteta’s appointment, due to his lack of experience. That could explain Arteta’s aggressive stance in his presser which is my way or the highway.”

Though something which might bring relief to the Arsenal fans is what he said after this comment. Ornstein reported about Arteta’s training sessions that, “However, players were positive after Sunday and Monday (Sunday and Monday’s training sessions).”
