MILAN NEWS: Inzaghi Sacked! Mihajlovic Appointed as Replacement!

AC Milan Today sacked coach Filippo Inzaghi after what has been a bitterly disappointing season. Milan has lost its reputation in the past few seasons and last season was so dreadful that home games at the San Siro had quiet crowds, stands were empty due to hopeless performance from one the most decorated club in Europe.

Under Inzaghi Milan lost 12 games , ending up in 10th position  and had a dreadful home record . The ticket sale went to all time low along with the club’s bizarre run.

Milan will not compete in Europe next season after finishing down in mid-table alongside city rivals Inter, spelling the end for Inzaghi, who failed to lift the club out of the gloom after taking over from former team mate Clarence Seedorf last season.

And now they have appointed Sinisa Mihajlovic on a two-year-deal after sacking Inzaghi following a year in charge at San Siro.

Mihajlovic left Sampdoria as coach earlier this month. He finished above Milan in 7th position. He becomes Milan’s fourth coach in less than two years following Inzaghi, Massimiliano Allegri and Clarence Seedorf. The Serbian’s arrival was confirmed in just under 90 minutes after the Rossoneri confirmed the sacking of Inzaghi. He has signed a two year contract,

The former Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was recently sacked by Real Madrid, had rejected offers to return to the Rosseneri and is expected to take an year off.

Since winning Serie A in 2011, Milan have finished second, third, eighth and now 10th, failing to qualify for Europe for a second consecutive season.
