In defense of the New York Yankees

The Yankees may have bowed out of the title race, but not every fan would slam them for that reason. Stephen A. Smith, recently, visited Eli Manning’s talk show. Speaking to Manning, Smith said, “I’ll answer it anyway. It’ll probably be the Knicks. I would hate the Knicks. The reason why is because, even though I love the Knicks, they are the ones who break my heart all the time. So they deserve my hatred and I am fair.”

The Yankees maintained the top spot in the zonal rankings throughout the majority of the season. They ran rampant in the first half of the regular season. Clinching a series victory, the Yankees then competed against the Houston Astros in the American League championship.
