MLB legend Albert Pujols has recently been in the news for not just his professional endeavors but his personal life too. The 43-year-old recently announced his retirement from baseball after a 22-season career. Popularly nicknamed The Machine, Pujols was recognized for his hitting prowess, which was a combination of raw power and contact-hitting ability.

In addition to the end of his professional career, Pujols also announced his separation from his wife of 22 years, Deidre Pujols. Late last year, there were rumors about the Machine dating someone new after posting some photos together. His new lady love even wished him a happy birthday on Jan. 16th. And now, almost confirming his relationship, the former first baseman has posted an adorable video of the two of them together.

There’s no other enjoyment for a couple that is quite like dancing together. And it doesn’t matter if it’s slow or fast dancing, as long as there is good music. Pujols posted some videos to his Instagram story where he can be seen dancing with Nicole Fernandez, his girlfriend, to some live music. The couple can be seen moving together while musicians play some traditional Spanish tunes in the background.

As a celebrity, it can often be hard to keep private life private, but the retired athlete managed it well. The former Cardinals slugger seemed to move into a new phase of his life after not only retiring but divorcing as well. While the new year signals change for everyone, the former pro seemed to take it to heart.

Who is Nicole Fernandez?

The new woman in Pujols’ life is a journalist and the daughter of the former president of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez. The 36-year-old congratulated the former athlete when he hit his 700th career home run. Her caption read, “Congratulations, Tito, I love you…” which was what first sparked relationship rumors. The couple now has multiple pictures on each of their social media accounts, which seemingly confirms a romantic relationship.

Leonel Fernandez, Nicole’s father, shared in an interview with Santiago Matias, “I don’t know, because there’s always been a friendly relationship, the friendship with Albert has been for a long time, for years, so I don’t know how to tell him...”
