Alex Rodriguez Impressed ‘Billionaire Princess’ Stephanie McMahon With a WWE Confession in 2020 That Defied His Childhood Struggles

The story of the tough childhood that Alex Rodriguez had hasn’t been hidden from anyone. The athlete has always been open about the struggles his mother had to go through to give him and his siblings a childhood that would give them the best opportunities in their future. 

But a couple of years ago, the baseball icon impressed the co-CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, Stephanie McMahon, with a confession that basically went against every struggle that Rodriguez had to face in his childhood.

Since his father had left the family when Alex was young, his mother had to take the reigns of the family. During the day, she used to work as a secretary and at night as a waitress. But it was all worth it. Because she did it so that her kids could stay in the sport that they chose. And Alex was into sports way before his father left the family. 

What did Alex Rodriguez say that impressed McMahon but went against every struggle he faced?

To say that money was tight in Alex’s childhood would not be wrong, considering that his mother had worked two jobs. But one thing they definitely did pay for was to view sports, not one, but many. In a podcast that Alex and Big Cat hosted, one of the guests was Stephanie McMahon. There, he confessed something that left her impressed.

“I gotta say I’m a bigger fan because I was basically not there cause I couldn’t afford it, but I watched every second of Wrestlemania one,” said Alex.

With this statement, he not only impressed the ‘Billionaire Princess’ but showed his love for sports. He could not afford to pay to view the matches live. But to view them pay-per-view was something the family could afford, as they never left sports behind. 

As a kid, Alex used to stay up late watching the NY Mets

Since his mother had a second job as a waitress, she usually came home late. And Alex always used to wait up for her. He used to pass his time by watching games of the New York Mets.

Then, after his mother came home, he used to rub her feet. Then he used to help her count the tips she got from the day. Sometimes, even if she used to come home at around 11 at night, Alex was always up waiting for her.
