Said Boone, “When you couple that [experience] with tremendous talent and the makeup of who he is, he’s about the team. He’s about winning. I knew nothing could get in the way of that.

His performances have been substantial enough to draw praise even from the mound rotation on his team. Said pitcher Luis Severino, “Every time he steps in the batter’s box, it’s like he’s going to hit a homer or do something good for us. He’s got a great shot this year to repeat what he did in 2017.”

Performance on track for a repeat of his best performance for Judge

Aaron Judge had a breakout year in 2017. Racking up 52 homers in the season, Judge won the unanimous vote for AL Rookie of the Year and ended only one position short in the AL MVP voting to finish second. With the pace he has set so far, he could well be on track to top that tally.
