New York Yankees icon Alex Rodriguez has spent more than two decades of his life playing baseball. But while fulfilling one of his dreams, he never once sidetracked from his personal life. After breaking up with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis in 2008, he has dated quite a few women. One of whom was with the megastar Jennifer Lopez. His relationship with the actress lasted for four years. 

Out of those four years, they spent two of them engaged. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and they broke up in April 2021. But it wasn’t JLo’s first broken engagement. 

After being engaged in 2002-04 to the actor Ben Affleck, the couple broke up as they were on different paths in their lives. Not long after breaking up with Affleck, she returned or at least had all the intentions of returning the $2.5 million worth of engagement ring she got proposed with. 

Jennifer Lopez displayed hypocrisy

The age of Bennifer first ended when they broke up on January 23, 2004. Not even two months after the breakup, the actress made her intentions of giving the ring back clear, according to a source of Us.

However, when A-Rod and JLo broke up on April 15, 2021, they announced it publicly and said that they intended to remain friends. Although the ex-celeb couple exchanged massive amounts of jewelry throughout their relationship, apparently, they did not decide who would be keeping the $1.8 million worth of rock that Rodriguez proposed to Lopez with. 

Also, it is still unclear whether, after almost two years of breaking up, Lopez has returned the ring or not. But multiple sources told TMZ that the actress had the ring, just not physically with her as she shot ‘Shotgun Wedding.’

What is next for the former couple?

While talking about JLo, not long after breaking up with A-Rod, she reunited with her now-husband Ben Affleck. Soon, the couple got engaged and got married in early 2022. Since then, the couple has shared their holidays as a married couple and are enjoying their life.

Whereas the former Yankee seems to be in his second relationship after breaking up with the actress. He is now dating the Canadian fitness expert Jaclyn Cordeiro and recently celebrated the New Year with her.
