The New York Yankees are in a different mood this season. After two days of the game being washed out, the Yankees played Texas Rangers on Sunday. And guess what? Once again, the Pinstripes dominated the opposition in the Bronx. This time, Gleyber Torres was the hero for the Yankees.

Notably, the Yankees played two games on Sunday against the Rangers. In the first game of the series, Gleyber Torres smashed a walk-off home run and helped the Yankees win the first game of the series.

However, the Rangers’ manager Chris Woodward had a different idea about Torres’ home run. The Rangers’ manager also took an indirect dig at the dimension of the Yankee Stadium. He termed it a “small ballpark”.

Gleyber Torres hammered a 369-foot walk-off home run against the Texas Rangers

The Bronx has become a fortress for the New York Yankees this season. If not for the second game against the Rangers, Pinstripes have won 11 games out of 14; they have played at the Yankee Stadium this season. To better this record, the Yankees star Gleyber Torres hit the game-winning walk-off home run against the Rangers on Sunday.

However, the Rangers’ manager, Chris Woodward, did not consider it a home run. Instead, he said that Torres would have been out, had it been in the Bronx. Woodward said it was an easy out in 99% of the ballparks.

“That’s a small ballpark. It’s an easy out in 99% of ballparks,” Woodward said. “He just happened to hit in a little league ballpark. The wind was not helping today… He just happened to hit it in a little league ballpark to the right field.”

Even if the Bronx has a small ballpark, the Rangers played in the same ballpark. So the statement from the Rangers’ manager does not make any sense. Meanwhile, reacting to Woodward’s comment, the Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone said that Woodward’s math is wrong.

“His math is wrong, 99% is impossible. There’s only 30 parks,” said Aaron Boone.
