Baseball legend Derek Jeter is presently indulging in the promotion of his newly released docuseries titled ‘The Captain’. Jeter is sharing highlights from his docuseries on his social network accounts. Derek has shared every minute detail from the significant chapters of his life in the biopic.

Derek Jeter is a baseball legend who played for the New York Yankees. Playing for the Yankees in his entire career, he established himself as one of the greatest shortstops in the sport. His wife, Hannah Jeter, is a supermodel and television show host who achieved notable success in her professional field.

In one segment of ‘The Captain’, Derek has talked about his first meeting with his wife, Hannah. They both were at an event in a restaurant. Hannah was in attendance with her mom.

When Derek and Hannah first met, Hannah had no idea about Derek’s reputation. Hannah was in a totally different profession, busy with her modeling career. Also, growing up in a place with no baseball craze didn’t help her take any interest in the sport.

Derek and Hannah’s first meeting happened by chance. Both were sitting at a restaurant in New York, attending an event. Derek, most of the time, was talking to Hannah’s mom, but the future couple had already formed a connection. The pair exchanged contact numbers. Derek had a flashback moment and posted a quote from ‘The Captain’ on his Twitter account stating, “Hannah’s mom could’ve warned me about a few things too.”

Talking about the first meeting on ‘The Captain’, Derek stated, “There was an event at a restaurant, and I just so happened to be sitting next to her mom. So I met her mom first.” While speaking on the same topic, Hannah said, “There was a connection from the very beginning. Even though he was mostly talking to my mom. But there was that connection, and I felt like he’s so mysterious, I want to know more.”

Derek further added, “I had touched base with a friend of mine that knew her, and we ended up meeting her a few days later. I spent a lot of time getting to know her. Spent a lot of time with family and friends. It doesn’t take too long to know how special she is.” 

The couple in the present day

Derek and Hannah began dating in 2012 without publicizing their relationship. The couple got engaged in 2015, married in 2016, and are now parents of three daughters.

‘The Captain’ premiered on both ESPN and ESPN+ networks on July 18th.
