The season is far from being over, and the benches-clearing incidents have become a routine for MLB teams in the current season. What is more shocking is that Dusty Baker has also become the victim of this incident.

Seattle Mariners hand a defeat to the Houston Astros in a controversial 1st game

During the ninth inning of the game, the Mariners were leading the Astros by 7-4. And that is when the Astros pitcher hit Eugenio Suarez with an intentional pitch. The Mariners had already lost their cool when Neris hit Ty France with a wayward pitch. It also led to a bench-clearing.

However, the home plate umpire immediately ejected Neris from the game, and a day later, MLB announced the suspension of four games for the Astros pitcher. Apart from the suspension, MLB also handed undisclosed fines to Neris and Baker.

Even after losing the first game of the ongoing series against the Mariners, the Astros are donning the American League West. They are far ahead of the second-placed LA Angels.

But again, the Astros are yet to play against any heavyweights of the 2022 season. If the Astros beat the New York Yankees or the Mets in the coming games, then only they will become a contender for the World Series title.
