2013 was the year that the former baseball player Alex Rodriguez might never forget in his life. It was the season when he got accused of taking and distributing performance-enhancing drugs for the second time. He even got suspended for the entire 2014 MLB season because of it. But something else happened a couple of weeks after the tragedy transpired for Alex.

After the news broke out of Alex’s connection to the Biogenesis scandal, in a Sunday night series finale, the New York Yankees went against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. On August 18, 2013, in the top of the second inning, Rodriguez was facing Red Sox’s pitcher Ryan Dempster. Then, the pitcher had his emotions take over him and threw pitches at Alex with the intention of hitting him, and the fourth one did hit him in the arm.

Rodriguez also was not going to let this go easily and had his revenge planned in the third inning. Recently, in an Instagram live with Mets’ star player Pete Alonso, Rodriguez talked about that day and how he took his revenge out on Dempster.

How did Alex Rodriguez take his revenge on Ryan Dempster?

Dempster was showing his feelings and was clearly angry over Alex for his steroid usage for the second time. Therefore, he deliberately took it out during the game. But Alex was not going to let that go easily. He was visibly angry too. He took matters into his own hands and decided to hit Dempster back.

To Alonso, he said“What I was trying to do was hit the ball right back at his cap to hit him in the forehead. I missed, and ended up hitting the ball to center field.”

Also, he took out better revenge on Dempster. While trying to deliberately hit Ryan, he hit a home run and scored for his team.

What was the Biogenesis scandal?

In 2013, the Biogenesis Clinic of America and Major League Baseball Players were embroiled in a biogenesis scandal. Many players were represented by the clinic. It was also in charge of distributing performance-enhancing medications.
