Apart from being a great player in the ballparks, Derek Jeter was one of the most likable guys in the entire Major League Baseball. Despite being a Yankees player, opposition fans adored him the most. Such was the aura he had in his playing days.

Ever since his retirement in2014, the Yankees have not found his replacement in their squad. Considering his longevity and an illustrious career in MLB, he also got his Hall of Fame induction in 2020. With this, he joined the elite company of Babe Ruth, Gary Sanchez, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and a few others. These are the prominent names of those players who have received their Hall of Fame induction as a Yankee.

When Jeter got his name etched in Cooperstown, many people even questioned whether he deserved it. But given his legendary career, it was probably the right call. In an old interview with another MLB legend, Harold Reynolds, Jeter revealed how he feels to be in the same company as the other Yankees greats.

In a career that spanned over two decades, Derek Jeter has played only for the New York Yankees. He is one of the few MLB players who have the privilege of calling themselves a one-team man.

He also won five World Series titles with the Pinstripes. It sums up the legendary career he had in Major League Baseball. In an old interview, Harold Reynolds discussed how it feels like to be in the same company as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and a few more Yankees legends.

Jeter said that he never dreamt of getting a Hall of Fame induction in his career. Because his major goal was to play in the big league, especially for the Yankees. “Talking to a Yankee fan, I mean just to be talked about in the same sentence… it’s very humbling,” Jeter said.

“Because it is not something I set out to do. I mean, that’s not a part of the dream. When you are younger, you want to get to the major league. And then finally, you get there… you don’t even think about the Hall of Fame, at least I didn’t.”
