Since 2017, the Houston Astros have dominantly asserted themselves as the most successful, and strongest Major League team with six consecutive postseason appearances, along with two World Championships in 2017 and 2022. And standing right at the face of their success, and their scandals, is their infamously famous Venezuelan-born baseman, Jose Altuve. Analogous to that, after winning the 2022 World Championship against the National League’s Philadelphia Phillies, the $30 million annually earning baseman returned home.

After going back home, shortly before the commencement of spring training, a video from his homeland surfaced where the eight-time All-Star is partying with the locals.

After honing his skills and making his debut with the team in 2011, Altuve has cemented his place as a reliable and decorated second baseman for the Astros. Back in 2018, the baseman signed a five-year contract with the Astros worth $151 million, that would extend until the 2024 season.

However, along with his incredible success, he also rests as the face of the Astros cheating scandal, despite claims that suggest otherwise.
