History has its own way of repeating itself. What happened almost two decades ago is about to happen once again. Alex Rodriguez played as a shortstop for both Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers but dropped that position to sign with the Yankees, as he played the third baseman there. The reason behind it was that the Bronx already had a champion shortstop in Derek Jeter. And now, after the latest acquisition of the New York Mets, Carlos Correa, is about to come to the Big Apple as well to play third base. Although it’s the other NY-based team, for the same reason Correa is likely to change his position, just like A-Rod.

But there still is a difference between the two stories. When A-Rod signed with the Yankees, he was not on a good term with Jeter because of his harsh statement on the Yankees’ SS. However, That is not the case with Correa and Lindor. Notably, Lindor already plays shortstop for the Mets. But it still did not stop the MLB world from both scenarios.

Although there were a few comments from MLB fans saying that Correa-Lindor’s duo is better than Jeter and A-Rod, the curve leaned towards the latter. Whereas many were also saying that there is no need for comparison as Jeter and A-Rod are iconic pair and is clearly the better one.

How did Correa sign with the Mets?

Correa signing with the New York Mets had come as a shock to many. It was because if it wasn’t for one issue with Correa’s medical, he would have signed with the San Francisco Giants. The deal was almost done but collapsed at the last moment.
