Of the many years Derek Jeter has been active, his favorite would be when he got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was the class of 2020 and was Jeter’s first year on the ballot, and he got in the very first time.

For any player to get inducted, they have to get at least 75% of the votes in their favor. And Jeter got 99.74% out of the total 100%. That meant that only one of the voters did not vote in Jeter’s favor, but the rest did.

Jeter now stands in second place with having the most number of votes to get instated into Cooperstown. Before him, the first place is also held by former Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera. He got 100% of the votes in his favor, and that too, in his first year on the ballot.

It’s been more than 2 years since Jeter got inducted, but people have not stopped asking him questions about that one person who didn’t vote for him. Recently, he shared the only issue that he has with that baseball writer/voter.

What is it that still bugs Derek Jeter?

People have been asking the same question for the past two years, but Derek has no answer for the same. He sat for a podcast with Drink Champs, and there also, he got asked if he knows who that person is and why didn’t he vote for him. There, he talked about the only issue that he has with that one writer.

Derek simply said that neither does he know who that person is nor does he care about it. “The only issue that I have is as an athlete reporters expect you to be accountable,” said Jeter about his problem with that voter.

He said that if he does not know about him and the reason why he didn’t vote for him, then he shouldn’t be the person answering these questions to the reporters.

He further added, “If you’re preaching accountability; you have to be accountable yourself!”

There is no hatred, but there is an annoyance of kept getting asked the same question over and over again, to which he does not have any reply.

Who do you think was the only person who was in opposition to Jeter’s induction to HOF?
