After having a brilliant free agency ahead of the 2022 season, the Mets suffered an enormous setback when their starting pitcher Jacob deGrom got injured. But this did not affect their mindset and game, as they won the opening day game against the Washington Nationals.

At once, the Mets were trailing by six runs to the Phillies. To overcome such a big lead that too in the ninth inning, indeed, needs a magical performance. And that is literally what the Mets did. They scored seven runs in the ninth inning to win the game and register their name in the MLB history.

Before this game, the Mets had lost on 330 occasions over the last 25 years where they trailed by six or more runs in the last moments. This performance from the Mets was not a fluke. Instead, it shows the winning mentality of their players.

After this historic win, the Mets manager reacted hilariously. He said that he was involved in too many other things, going on to start cheerleading, but he felt like it.
