In the episode titled ‘Making Moves With A-Rod’ the two discussed the events in the baseball icon’s life. The foiled plan to acquire New York Mets and the broken relationship with celebrity singer Jennifer Lopez took center stage among topics. However, ‘A-Rod’ had classy replies to each query.

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez: The sporting spirit lives on

Alexander ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is one of the biggest known baseball names around the world. He retired quite a while ago, but his fair play and diplomatic attitude are still intact. He once attempted to buy the New York Mets alongside his former fiancée, Jennifer Lopez. However, whenever asked about the failed bid and broken engagement, he always comes up with positive comments.

Listening to Rodriguez’s sporty comment put Stewart too into an upbeat mode. She got excited about how New York is now going to have two equally strong baseball teams. Seeing how both Yankees and Mets are strengthening up, Stewart asked ‘A-Rod’ about the future of both teams. To which, ‘A-Rod’ replied, saying, “Well, let me tell you, this could be a rematch of the 2000 Subway Series, which would be incredible.”

For Rodriguez, the benefit of the sport as a whole still holds higher value. When Martha Stewart asked ‘A-Rod’ about his once-grand plan to buy the Mets, he answered, “Well, we came in second. So I would say that we were the second winner. And we ran into a buzzsaw. I mean, with a guy like Steve Cohen, who is one of the wealthiest people around in the world. He’s a long-time Mets fan and he won. Fair and square!”

Moving ahead from the topic of baseball, Stewart got more personal. She then asked ‘A-Rod’ about his life after his breakup with megastar singer Jennifer Lopez. Still, ‘A-Rod’ maintained his jolly and grateful nature of speaking. “You know Martha, thank goodness, no regrets. Life is good. I am very fortunate. I wake up every morning and thank the good lord for my health. For my beautiful daughters, who are now 17 and 14. That is my number one focus in life,” said ‘A-Rod’ in an elegant reply.

Life after the split

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez began famously dating in 2017. After dating for a couple of years, they moved in together and got engaged in the year 2019. But they called off their engagement in 2021 and went in separate directions. Lopez is now engaged to her former fiance, actor Ben Affleck.
