Baltimore Orioles are already going through a poor run in the current season. Instead of taking some excellent steps to bring the team back on the winning track, the Orioles have a bigger problem to get rid of.

The Angelos family has been the owner of the Baltimore Orioles for over 100 years (1903). The 93-year-old Peter Angelos is the owner of the MLB franchise. But after 2017, Peter Angelos’ sons, John Angelos and Louis, and his wife, Georgia, became the controlling owner of the Orioles.

Because of his health conditions, Peter Angelos is not in charge of the Orioles since 2017. A recent report suggests that Louis Angelos has sued his brother John Angelos and mother Georgia for allegedly taking over the control of the team.

Per CBS Sports, Louis Angelos’s suit suggests that his brother, John Angelos, has been taking decisions against their father’s will. John wants to control the team all by himself. Louis’s suit also hints that his brother desires to relocate the MLB franchise to Tennessee.

“The corrupting effect of John’s actions has been to thoroughly frustrate Mr. Angelos’ intentions,” the suit said. “John intends to maintain absolute control over the Orioles — to manage, to sell or, if he chooses, to move to Tennessee… without having to answer to anyone.”

Per a report from The Athletic, Louis has also blamed his brother for manipulating their 80-year-old mother to help him take over the Baltimore Orioles.

“John concealed and misrepresented the facts, feeding his mother a steady diet of half-truths and prevarications. He acted unilaterally and informed Mrs. Angelos about his unilateral actions only after the fact,” The Athletic report said.

Given the complications in the ownership, the Orioles’ future does not look good. With 24 wins out of 59 games, the Orioles are having one of their worst seasons in 2022. Only time will tell what will be the fate of the Baltimore Orioles.
