After Derek Jeter, he is the only one who has come close to his legacy. Recently, a renowned MLB insider opened up about what Aaron Judge will need to do if he wants to land a mega-contract.
Will Aaron Judge be able to pull off a $300 million contract?
If Aaron Judge will be able to pull off a $300 million contract or not, totally depends on him and the current season. And when talking about his current season, Judge chose the best time to get his form back. Notably, the Yankees slugger is probably having his best season in 2022.
Per ESPN, he has already smashed 14 home runs this season, most by anyone. On his next contract, MLB insider Jeff Passan said it will only go higher, only if he remains healthy. Passan also hinted that Judge’s new contract will start with a “three”, meaning a deal worth more than $300 million.

Talking to Rich Eisen, Passan said, “If Aaron Judge stays healthy that’s headed for a contract that starts with a ‘three’. And remember, Aaron Judge turned down an extension this off-season for about $230 million… So seven-year extension on top of this season is what he is doing right now, the question is going to be just how high it goes.”

Passan also expressed his opinion about Judge’s age. He said that it does not matter if he is a little older. The only thing that matters is how productive he is in the ballpark.
“If he can again stay healthy for the entire season. Because when he is out there, this has always been the case. When Aaron Judge is out on the field, he is productive, he is good. It does not matter that he is a little older,” Passan added.
