Tony La Russa has been out of action since the end of August due to heart problems. And as per recent reports, the three-time World Champion Manager will remain at rest for the remainder of 2022.

Tony La Russa made his playing debut in 1963 with the Oakland Athletics. 10 years down the line, La Russa retired with the Chicago Cubs in 1973. Soon after that, La Russa entered the White Sox setup as a coach, and then as a manager in 1979. After managing multiple teams for 32 years, and a ten-year break, the 77-year-old returned to the White Sox in 2021 replacing Rick Renteria.

Markedly, towards the end of August, the three-time World Champion found himself a victim of heart problems. As he continued to look for heart specialists, he also remained out of action. During this period, Miguel Cairo took over as interim manager.

Markedly, as reported by B/R Walk-Off, Tony La Russa will not be returning to the White Sox kit for the remainder of the 2022 season due to his conditions.

Tony La Russa took over as the White Sox manager only one year after the Sox broke their 11-year absence from the postseason in 2021. With Tony La Russa coming in, the White Sox qualified for the postseason but lost the Divisional Series to Houston Astros. Moving on to 2022, the White Sox have had an average season at best. They are currently standing at number two in the Central Division with exactly 76 wins and losses at 0.500.

However, while the postseason berth is far away, it is not completely sold yet and the White Sox stand a far chance through both, the division and the Wild Card.
