With 62 home runs, a just missed Triple Crown and a potential American League MVP award, Aaron Judge in 2022 has left the world of baseball in awe. After proving his caliber to the world in 2017, he has repeated exactly that and more this year. However, everyone has their bad days.

With the commencement of the American League Division Series, it seems like Judge’s pleasant form has vanished. Notably, the New York Yankees are taking on the Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS. While the Yanks won game one 4-2, they ended up losing game two 1-4. And Aaron Judge concluded the game at 0 for 5.

Yankee Stadium isn’t kind to anyone, not even The Judge

Barring past accolades and form, Judge met the same fate as anyone else would at Yankee Stadium. After striking out four times in the game, the bleachers weren’t pleasant towards the outfielder.

After the game, Aaron Judge was asked his opinion on getting booed. He said, “It happens. Like I said, it’s happened many a time in my career. There’s nothing I can do. I got to play better, that’s what it comes down to. Didn’t do the job tonight.”

From President George Bush to an in-form slugger like Aaron Judge, Yankee Stadium will boo anyone. However, one poor match can’t take anything away from Judge, who’s literally had the season of his life. After crossing Roger Maris’ 61 from 1961, Judge now holds the record for most home runs hit in a single American League Season at 62.

Moreover, the outfielder almost chased down the rare batting Triple Crown, which was last awarded to Miguel Cabrera in 2012. Analogous to his spectacular form, Judge is also in line to win the American League MVP award in 2022.

That being said, Judge is yet to prove himself in the postseason. And show the world that he’s the guy who steps up when his team needs him the most. The ALDS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians is now leveled at 1-1.
