Los Angeles Angels’, Shohei Ohtani is in-course to being named as the MLB’s Most Valuable Player. However, as Ohtani continues to impress with consistent form, his team is still fighting for a spot in the postseason.

Success hasn’t come easy to Los Angeles Angels this year. Adding another loss to their list of defeats on Sunday, the team lost to Seattle Mariners in the home finale with a score of 5-1. As the disappointing season continues, an impatient team, battling past demotivation and a lot more, might just lose their star player now.

Shohei Ohtani warns Los Angeles Angels

Shohei Otani is one of the most versatile and decorated players in the history of MLB. The Japanese international is known for his lethal pitches and his hard-hitting strokes. But, despite having the rare breed lead the charge, the Los Angeles Angels are on the verge of missing out on the play-off season. Notably, the Angels have not qualified for the postseason since 2014.

Ohtani lost his patience after his side’s defeat to Seattle Mariners on Sunday. His disappointment and disgruntlement were clear in his post-match interview. When asked about his future, Ohtani said, “I really like the team. “I love the fans, I love the atmosphere of the team, but more than that, I want to win. That’s the biggest thing for me. I’ll leave it at that.”

The future is uncertain

The Japanese star has two more years on his contract with the Angels. However, he seems to be very disappointed with the way things are working now. When he was asked if he believes the Angels can win the next two seasons, Ohtani said, “I wonder.”

Further explaining his lack of faith in the team, he said, “I don’t think we can win with the way things are.” The last time Angels won a post-season match was in  2009.

The clock is ticking, with Ohtani clearly running out of patience. Will the Angels rise out of this slumber of defeat? Only time will tell.
