There is a growing trend of exhibition boxing matches. Everyone from former MMA fighters to YouTubers and TikTokers are taking part in exhibition boxing matches these days. There are an increasing number of retired boxers and MMA fighters who are coming out of retirement to lace up their gloves and enter the squared circle once again. Mike Tyson and Oscar De La Hoya are good examples of the same, and Vitor Belfort is the latest name added to the list.

The former UFC champion Vitor Belfort has been out of competition since 2018. However, recent reports suggest that he will be returning to the ring to take on Mike Holston aka ‘The Real Tarzann’.

What can one expect from Vitor Belfort vs Mike Holston?

Vitor Belfort, for a long time, was considered one of the very best in the UFC. He was able to reach the pinnacle of the sport when he was crowned the UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 46 against Randy Couture. However, Belfort never defended the belt.

In his last five fights in the UFC, Belfort has one win, one no-contest, and three losses. Therefore, it is safe to say that Belfort is not in the prime of his fighting career. After his loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 224, Belfort stated that he was done with the sport.

However, it appears as though a boxing match against Mike Holston has caught his fancy as he is set to return to combat sports after nearly three years out. The fight is just a few weeks away on June 19. A video shared by Helwani shows an altercation between the two men as Holston drops by Belfort’s gym and engages in trash talk before spraying him with water.
