Daniel Cormier Surprises Everyone With His Pick for the Greatest Moment in His Career

Daniel Cormier is an astute professional. He has been an excellent representative of the sport for a long time now. In 11 years as a professional, Cormier has never been involved in controversies. He has always carried himself well and has represented his family and his team in a manner the befits a top star. 

Despite being one of the biggest names in the UFC, Daniel has always made time to give back. He is an ever-present at the American Kickboxing Academy, where he helps out his fellow fighters. He also coaches the children on the local wrestling team. As a role model in MMA, it does not get any better than Daniel Cormier.

‘DC’ has always worn multiple hats even when he was fighting. He serves as a commentator and an analyst in the UFC and is at Fight Island for the same reason. In a recent interview with Helen Yee, Daniel was asked what moment in his career he was the proudest of.

He replied, “Uhh, it’s a number of things you know, Anytime you win the UFC championship and you get the adoration of the crowd. And you get the belt wrapped around you by Dana White…. It always stands out above all. But I remember making the Olympic team and getting to hug my mom…..Because I’m from Louisiana right, we don’t make Olympic teams. We don’t become world champions.”

Cormier continued, “It’s hard to pick one. But I guess if you have to, it would be the night I beat (Stipe) Miocic. Because now there never be any questions. Because, when you hold two belts that will never be forgotten”. Cormier stated that as fighters, they come and go. However, the legacy they leave behind stays on forever in the sport.

Cormier has achieved multiple accolades in his career. From placing fourth at the Olympics to winning the light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson, to securing his status as ‘champ-champ’ by beating Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight belt. What Daniel Cormier has done in the sport remains the stuff of legends. He will go down without a doubt as not only one of the best fighters, but also one of the most respectful fighters ever.
