Paige VanZant Fight Date Announced For BKFC Debut

Paige VanZant shocked the MMA community recently when she announced that she had signed with the Bare-Knuckle Fighting championship. The former flyweight fighter is set to make her debut with the organisation on November 14 of this year. 

VanZant started her career off in the UFC with straight wins that included two stoppages. She made her debut in the UFC against Kailin Curran, whom she stopped in the third round of their fight. She went onto secure a unanimous decision win over Felice Herrig. At UFC 191 VanZant stopped Chambers via arm-bar in the first round of their fight. 

Since the fight against Chambers, Paige has won just two of her last six fights. Multiple injuries to her hand meant that the fighter had to be out for prolonged periods of time.

Most recently, the Dundee native fought at UFC 251 in July of this year. Her fight against Amanda Ribas was the last on her UFC contract. Paige lost the fight via an armbar. After her loss to Brazilian, “PVZ” tested the free agency market.

Paige VanZant set to make her BKFC debut

The former UFC fighter signed a lucrative four-fight deal with the promotion recently and will make her debut sooner than anticipated. As reported by MMA fighting, the promotion is targeting a November debut for their newest recruit.

According to BKFC President Feldman “It should be her (Paige VanZant) debut”, speaking about the November 14 card. He also went on to add, “I know she was sick recently, so we’re going to see if she’s going to be able to get back into training, or if we have to push it.”

The fighter had recently revealed that her husband Austin Vanderford had recently tested positive for COVID-19. It appears as though the former Sports Illustrated model is on her road to recovery.

BKFC President Feldman added that the promotion was targeting Jim Alers Vs Luis Palomino and Johnny Bedford Vs Dat Nguyen for the same card. VanZant’s debut with the promotion seems set to be on a stacked card.
