Joe Rogan is a multi-talented individual. The UFC commentator and analyst is also a standup comedian and a podcast host, among other things. Most MMA fans are familiar with the Joe Rogan Experience, where Rogan invites people from different walks of life to share their thoughts and experiences on different topics.
Rogan covers everything, from politics to science to MMA, on his podcast. ‘JRE’ is one of the most popular podcasts in the United States at the moment.
On a recent episode, Mariana van Zeller, an award-winning Portuguese journalist and correspondent for the National Geographic channel, made an appearance on the show. The pair discussed bodybuilding, among other topics.

“Bodybuilding does not exist”- Joe Rogan makes a surprise statement
While discussing usage of steroids in bodybuilding, Rogan said, “Let’s look at bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is the best one. It does not exist. Bodybuilding does not exist. Bodybuilding with steroids, exists. I had a friend, my friend Brian who lived in Boston, was a natural bodybuilder. And he was very dedicated, and he was a legitimate bodybuilder.

Rogan continued, “He worked out very hard and ate very clean. And he was super dedicated. You would swear he was on steroids. He was big…. He is nothing like those giants you see at the gym that are on steroids. There are people that walk around…. They don’t even look like humans they look like walls with feet.”
Bodybuilding is perhaps one of the very few sports where the use of steroids is allowed. It is a rare case where using steroids is the only way to be able to compete at the highest level.

Joe went on to share a conversation he had with eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman, who joined him on his podcast. Rogan revealed that Coleman started taking steroids after thirty, as he realized he would not be able to compete if he did not start taking steroids. However, he competed clean before he turned thirty.
