The main event at UFC Vegas 37 featured a light heavyweight bout between Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann. This was the first UFC fight card after a brief hiatus and it was a delight.
UFC loyalists viewed #6 ‘Lionheart’ and #11 ‘Superman’ as two extremely dangerous fighters in the 205-pound division. Hence, they were excited.
The fight was a litmus test for Spann as he was taking on an elite fighter and former title challenger. Unfortunately for him, he failed, as it was ‘Lionheart’ who put on a show with an impressive first-round submission win to make a bold statement and put the division on notice.
