Daniel Cormier Nate Diaz and Other UFC Stars React to Marvin Vettori’s Dominant Performance

Marvin Vettori made history tonight. He became the first Italian-born fighter to headline a main event fight under the promotion. Hermansson had two opponents pull out of the fight before he was able to secure a fight this weekend against ‘The Italian Dream’.

Vettori deserves a ton of credit for stepping in on short notice and taking on a dangerous adversary in Jack Hermansson for five rounds.

The Italian Dream‘ secured an impressive unanimous decision win over five hard-fought rounds. The fight was definitely a contender for Fight Of the Night. Both men garnered a lot of praise from the MMA community for the valiant display.

Twitter reacts as Marvin Vettori secures a unanimous decision win over Jack Hermansson 

Aljamain Sterling took to Twitter to realize the positive impact Vettori’s success would have on the individuals dreaming of a career in MMA from Italy. 

Nate Diaz also tweeted to congratulate Vettori on a job well done. Compliments from the Stockton native are hard to come by.

UFC Strawweight Tatiana Suarez took to Twitter to congratulate both men for their valiant display tonight

Praise for the two men was not limited to the MMA community only. Singer and songwriter Austin Mahone tweeted in anticipation of a great fight between the two men. Which it was. 

Former double champion Daniel Cormier tweeted and asked Vettori to smile now that he would be in the top 5 of the division.

Fellow middleweight and teammate Kelvin Gastelum took to Twitter to congratulate his teammate on an epic performance.

Derek Brunson tweeted after the fight and indicated that he wanted a scrap against ‘The Italian Dream’ next. But, with ‘The Italian Dream’ having his eyes set on Paulo Costa. It’s doubtful that a fight between the two will materialize.

Vettori has now made sure that he will be in the top 5 of the division when the revised rankings come out. He will become the first Italian to be in the top 5 of a division in the UFC.

Vettori will surely inspire a host of young Italian fighters who are considering taking up the sport. ‘The Italian Dream’ will be hoping that his display made his countrymen proud.
