UFC icon and megastar, Conor McGregor, recently took to Twitter and shared his opinion on Diego Sanchez’s bizarre training video. The video had ‘The Nightmare’ Sanchez performing high-risk training, which included a debatable upside-down body hardening technique.

The video circulated over social media and found its way to the ‘Notorious’, who provided his opinion on the training of a man he wanted to fight 2020.

The former UFC two-division champion said, “This is just madness! I’ll break this things nose in half. This not the move Diego, my bro. I been with ye the whole way, and still am. But this is not on. It was unfair treatment by commentary and fans on your last performance imo, for sure. But not on this guy, 0-0. Ditch.” 

In another tweet, which was also deleted, he talked about his own body hardening technique. Per McGregor, “I’m actually on the side of body hardening work also. Work the body etc. But doing it hanging upside down, and getting the dome of the head struck repeatedly, while covering vision, is preposterous! Grab this guy by the ears and head butt him at his front door first thing.”

Sanchez was scheduled to face Donald Cerrone in what would have been the former’s last match in the promotion. However, following an altercation between Sanchez’s coach Joshua Fabia and UFC officials, the UFC released ‘The Nightmare’ without a retirement fight.

Prior to his undercard bout at UFC 253 against Jake Matthews, Sanchez had expressed his desire to compete against the ‘ The Notorious’ before bringing an end to his career.

McGregor, in his response, had shared a tweet that included a private conversation between him and Dana White. In the tweet, it was clear that the former two-divisional champion wanted the fight, but the boss wasn’t that keen on it.

The tweet certainly made headlines, and it also made White rebuke McGregor at UFC 253 post-fight interview. He blasted McGregor for breaking the ‘man code’ and throwing dirt on him.

He further explained why he didn’t wish to proceed with McGregor vs Sanchez. It was primarily because the latter was unranked.

McGregor fighting Sanchez could have been an excellent farewell to the latter, but it boils to what the boss thinks about it. And in this case, the boss was apathetic over it.
