McGregor usually walks down to The Foggy Dew, an Irish folk ballad. Foggy Dew is an Irish war ballad where the lyrics describe the Easter Rising that took place in April 1916. The song heartens McGregor to fight for Ireland instead of Britain, as they did in world war one between 1914-1918.
The version the ‘Notorious’ one uses for his walk to the ring is the one Sinead O’Connor sang on the 1995 Chieftain’s album The Long Black Veil.

At UFC 189 in Las Vegas, O’Connor sang a live rendition of the song for McGregor‘s entrance against Chad Mendes. Generally, his song mixes with Notorious B.I.G’s 1997 hit Hypnotize, from the album ‘Life After Death’.
