Conor McGregor prides himself on never backing out of a fight. During his time with the UFC, the Irishman has never pulled out of a fight and has always shown up on fight night. This is one of the reasons why Dana White and the promotion took a liking towards McGregor early on in his UFC career. However, it appears as though this approach of his might have cost him dearly at UFC 264.
After being discharged from the hospital, McGregor took to Instagram to share a message with his fans, stating that he is doing well and is excited to come back stronger than ever. However, he also mentioned that going into the fight against Poirier, he had multiple stress fractures on his shinbone, which he ignored as he would have had to pull out of the fight in order to fix them.
