Naomi Osaka Raises Her Voice Against Racial Discrimination Following George Floyd’s Death

Hundreds of protestors are raging across multiple cities in the USA over the death of George Floyd, a black man who died at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis. Consequently, rising tennis sensation Naomi Osaka also added her voice to those expressing outrage at the incident.
Earlier, a white police officer arrested George for allegedly trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. Consequently, it can be seen in a widely circulated video on social media that the cop knelt on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. All the while Floyd was repeatedly pleading the cop to let him up as he couldn’t breathe.

However, the officer ignored his pleas and kept kneeling on Floyd’s neck until he could barely move. Subsequently, the hospital declared dead after an ambulance took him there following the incident.
The city fired the four policemen present during the incident. However, Floyd’s family and protestors demand that the officers should be arrested. In addition, stern measures should be taken against the cop for Floyd’s murder.

World No.10 Osaka also expressed her disappointment over the senseless discrimination. “Just because it isn’t happening to you doesn’t mean it isn’t happening at all,” wrote Osaka on Twitter.
