The excitement for Bubba Wallace’s maiden season with the new 23XI Racing team is slowly growing. The team has now officially announced its partnership with five big sponsors for the coming season. Bubba Wallace and 23XI racing partnered up with DoorDash, McDonald’s, Columbia Sportswear, Dr. Pepper, and Root Insurance.

The team’s co-owner Denny Hamlin was excited to make the announcement. It is also worth noting that McDonald’s is simultaneously sponsoring the Chip Ganassi Racing team. Wallace’s Dr. Pepper deal comes out of the left-field since he used to sponsor the rival soft drinks brand, Coca-Cola.

Speaking about the Dr. Pepper deal, Wallace said, “Coca-Cola has done a lot for me. … But going into this year, we saw an opportunity come in front of us that we couldn’t turn away from.”

DoorDash, McDonald’s, Columbia Sportswear, Dr. Pepper, and Root Insurance will form the five founding partners of 23XI Racing. Without a doubt, Wallace would be eager to go racing as soon as possible.

Bubba Wallace could be a dark horse in 2021

He may not boast of any wins yet, but he has finished in the Top 10 on nine occasions. So far in his Cup Series career, Wallace has raced under the Richard Petty Motorsports banner since his debut in 2017. He also has the best finish of second place at the 2018 Daytona 500, showing that he is capable of fighting at the sharp end.

It is worth mentioning that DoorDash, McDonald’s, and Columbia have sponsored Wallace before. Meanwhile, for Dr. Pepper and Root Insurance, this is their maiden association with the African-American driver. Coming back to the on-track action, team owners Denny Hamlin and NBA legend Michael Jordan have high hopes for the driver.

They truly believe that Bubba Wallace can be the one to lead the team to glory. Obviously, Wallace is a hugely talented driver, and a win will come for him eventually. The big question is, how long until he finally reaches Victory Lane?
