Chase Briscoe Posts An Emotional Message After Winning the NASCAR Xfinity Race at Indiana

Yesterday, the 25-year old Indiana native Chase Briscoe won his maiden NASCAR Xfinity race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. After his win, Chase celebrated in the style of his team’s owner and legendary NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, he and his pit crew climbed the track fences and kissed the bricks.

After his win, He said in an interview with ESPN. He said, “I just can’t believe I won at Indianapolis. But to win here at Indianapolis, driving for my hero, with [interim crew chief] Greg Zipadelli in my box, it’s just unbelievable.”

In an interview, Stewart-Haas racing executive Greg Zipadelli spoke about how much the race win means to Briscoe. He said that the race is very special to Chase considering that all his racing heroes have won the race at Indy.

After that, he posted an emotional message on Twitter. He said, “This was an unbelievable feeling, I’ve came here throughout my childhood and always would cherish just looking at the bricks. Can’t believe a small-town Indiana kid got to kiss them at @IMS“

Greg Zipadelli is acting as the interim crew chief for Chase Briscoe

After Chase’s regular crew head Richard Boswell was suspended, Greg Zipadelli is acting as his interim crew chief. The win in ‘Pennzoil 150’ at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is Greg’s first NASCAR Xfinity race win as a crew chief. Currently, he is the competition director (VP Competition) for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Additionally, Greg is most notably known as the crew chief of the number 20 car for Joe Gibbs Racing. He has worked with NASCAR legend and team owner Tony Stewart and Joey Logano from 1999 to 2011. During his stint as a crew chief, he won two Cup championships and 34 race wins.
