Being born the son of a NASCAR legend and growing up in a family full of racecar drivers, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s life centered on racing. But his wife sought to change that, or at least tone that down, as soon as the duo started dating.

In a recent interview with Danica Patrick in her Podcast, Pretty Intense, Dale Jr. revealed something fascinating.

He opened up about his preference for staying on the trailer during races and never stepping out of the track. However, his wife, Amy Reimann, was not too fond of that lifestyle.

“We get there and she’s like, ‘are we not leaving this bus? Like, we were there for like 24 hours at Pocono or somewhere. And I’m like, ‘no why would we leave? We have all the food we need, I’m here to race I’m at the racetrack.”
“I can’t leave the track it’s like seven o’clock at night and I’m like I can’t leave what I’ve never left’.”

“And she made it a lot of fun, you know?”, “She showed me a whole sort of new lifestyle of getting out and just doing.”
