For the 2021 NASCAR season, the paddock is set to visit a few new tracks. In light of that, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr revealed what new tracks he would like to see on the calendar in the future years. He narrowed it down to three main choices, two of which were in the United States, and the third was on foreign soil.

Dale Jr admitted that he would love to see NASCAR visit a reconfigured Atlanta Motor Speedway. To be precise, he was referring to the 1980s and early 1990s configuration. At that time, the Atlanta Motor Speedway used to consist of two straights and two turns. In addition to that, it was still a mile-and-a-half long, and the turns were longer.

The second track he picked is the Bristol Motor Speedway, but with more asphalt. Apparently, Dale Earnhardt Jr is not quite fond of the dirt surface and would not want to ‘mess with it.’ He wants the Bristol track to be an asphalt surface, as he feels that it will be better for the sport.

For the final track, Dale Jr decided to go international. The former NASCAR driver opted for the Bathurst track in Australia. Explaining his choice, he said, “That track to me, is the most frightening race track on earth. Terrifying, wild race track. I drove around it in a rental car, and I think it’s the most insane race track. Nothing scares me like Bathurst.”

He revealed that he and his companions did alright in their rental van at the track. The Mount Panorama track is an iconic circuit and is well known for hosting the Bathurst 1000. One of its biggest characteristics is the numerous elevation changes, and if NASCAR ever visited the track, it would throw up unique challenges for the drivers.
