The Superstar Racing Experience project, a brainchild of Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham, is gaining traction quite quickly. They are currently running testing sessions on dirt tracks, and once again, have attracted interest from NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin.

This past weekend, one of the SRX cars was running a test session on a dirt track under the lights. Seeing that, Hamlin was quick to offer running a test session for them.

Denny Hamlin shows interest in Tony Stewart’s Superstar Racing Experience, yet again

This is not the first time Hamlin has expressed his interest in the Superstar Racing Experience league. Along with the full-time drivers, the league’s format will also have some ‘ringers,’ who will make special appearances.

Early this year, SRX reached out to some big-name drivers on Twitter, approaching them to sign as ringer drivers for the league. Among them were Hamlin and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch, both of whom showed great interest in giving the new league a shot.

Hamlin and the rest of the NASCAR Cup Series field recently raced on a dirt track themselves. The NASCAR Cup Series returned to dirt racing after 50 years, in the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway last weekend.

The dirt racing buzz might still be fresh on Hamlin, who must’ve felt the excitement upon seeing the SRX car on dirt under lights.

The SRX league already has massive names in the world of motorsports already signed up to participate in the event. Among them are Stewart, Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves, Bobby Labonte, Bill Elliott, and Marco Andretti.

If the likes of Hamlin, Busch, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Larson also join in, it would be a massive boost to the new league.

SRX will run six races in the span of just over a month, starting with a race on June 12 at Stafford Motor Speedway. Knoxville, Eldora, Lucas Oil Raceway, and Slinger Speedway are other tracks on the schedule. The final race on the calendar is at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
