Despite Putting Ryan Blaney’s Chicken Allegations to Bed, “Freak” Chase Elliott Has NASCAR Fans Wondering “What the Hell Is Wrong With Him?”

The 2022 National Motorsport Press Association (NMPA)’s Most Popular Driver race was probably the most different and interesting one in recent memory. It had campaign videos, allegations against Chase Elliott, and a lot more spice!

Chase Elliott’s popularity among fans is no secret; the Hendrick Motorsports driver had won the previous 4 editions (consecutively) of the MPD award before 2022.

But his childhood friend, Ryan Blaney, gave him a run for the prize this time around. He came up with a hilarious political campaign-styled video. That video alleged that Chase, who is, inter alia, sponsored by Hooters, “uses a fork and knife to eat his wings”.

If true, that would’ve been outrageous, wouldn’t it?! Turns out that allegation was way off the mark.

When receiving his 5th consecutive MPD, the 27-year-old cleared the allegations. The show host asked him, “Well, we have to address the elephant in the room. Do you eat chicken wings with a fork and knife? Is this really true?”

Chase replied, “Yeah, you know, look… I feel like I don’t even have to answer that. You should know the answer to this… NO! I don’t do this. I don’t know where he [Blaney] came up with that. Where’d you get that?”

The camera then panned on the Team Penske driver, who apparently enjoyed seeing his ploy work out! He muttered something which the mics didn’t pick up. However, Elliott replied, “I have never done that!”

As the host correctly said, “It was a pretty lofty accusation for a young man sponsored by a chicken wing company.” Hilarious banter nevertheless!

Chase Elliott is in the mud for another food crime

With the chicken wings and fork-knife allegations, Chase had the privilege of lack of evidence. However, a 2019 video posted by NASCAR has him in trouble with fans.
