Fans Lobby Michael Jordan’s Ex-Driver as NASCAR Broadcaster Claimed to Be “Jumping Ships” With Kevin Harvick Speculation

Last season, FOX Sports followed an interesting approach to broadcasting when it comes to NASCAR races. Instead of having three full-time names for their broadcasting tenure in the sport, they decided to go with a 2+1 approach. This meant that while Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer were the constant duos in the booth, the last remaining spot was in rotation. So we saw Danica Patrick, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, and other big names from the sport in the FOX Booth last season.

Now, heading into the next season, it seems like this rotational 2+1 approach is going to remain in place, at least for 2023. In fact, according to journalist Adam Stern, post the coming season, in 2024, this approach could be scrapped as FOX intends to go back to three full-time analysts.

Who’d be the third name, you ask?

Well, Kevin Harvick’s name is one of the three at least. As the Stewart Haas Racing driver is expected to retire at the end of the coming season.

But as good as the idea of Harvick being an analyst in the near future sounds, for some NASCAR fans, it didn’t sit well. Because to them, there was another, much better candidate for the job, a now-retired, Kurt Busch.

Has Kevin Harvick got anything left to prove in NASCAR?

Certainly, if not surely, Kevin Harvick is a certified NASCAR legend. One of the very few who are still actively racing, and racing at the top level. The Stewart Haas Racing driver proved once again last season that he still has got it. With back-to-back wins to book his place in the playoffs, Harvick showed that while age doesn’t stop, class remains at the top. But that isn’t to say that he’ll keep on racing until the end of time. This, even Harvick knows.

He admitted earlier this year that while he did consider retirement. Continuing in NASCAR was ultimately a matter of continuing with the group of people he has on his team. At this point in his life, Kevin Harvick is standing on a Cup Series championship, with 60 race wins, one Xfinity Series championship with 47 wins, and 14 wins in the Truck Series.

So the question remains, has Kevin Harvick got anything left to prove?
