Fresh Twist in the Viral Brandon Brown NASCAR Sponsorship Saga

NASCAR driver Brandon Brown got in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in the 2021 season. The Xfinity Series driver was surrounded and hounded by chants which he neither asked for nor deserved.

Yet Brown recently embraced it all. He turned it into a joke and laughed back at those who were laughing at him.

He recently unveiled a new sponsorship for his car from a cryptocurrency meme coin, “LGBCOIN”. But one thing that Brown didn’t consider was the NASCAR regulations.

Knowingly or unknowingly, Brandon Brown ‘jumped the gun’ before getting approval for the new sponsorship. Naturally, NASCAR reminded him and his team that without approval, they cannot have a sponsorship, let alone one of that nature.

And now the recent development in this story is reported by NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass.

He posted on his Twitter, “Brandon Brown team believed it had all the approvals needed for sponsor and the paint scheme, so it went ahead with the announcement today. NASCAR says sponsorship approvals still needed.”

Brandon Brown said the new sponsor’s support comes at a ‘pivotal time’

After announcing the new sponsorship, Brown had expressed his delight and excitement with the new partner coming on board. He said, “Having the financial support of LGBcoin is incredible, especially at such a pivotal time in our team’s growth as we work to build to the next level of competition.”

“From wondering if we would have the financial means to continue to compete, to my first major win (at Talladega no less), to becoming an unintentional meme, this past season was a rollercoaster,” he continued.

“The support of sponsors like LGBcoin empowers us to be as competitive as possible and I’m looking forward to competing hard on the track in 2022.”

Unfortunately for Brandon Brown, this new partnership could easily come to an end if NASCAR deems it wrong; he would desperately hope it doesn’t come down to it.

After all, he never asked for all the unwarranted things that happened in the first place. And now that he’s dealing with it by embracing it, everyone should let him.
