“I Got to Drive for Him”: 23XI Racing Newcomer Tyler Reddick Reveals His Favorite Racing Driver in NASCAR

In a recent Instagram live, Tyler Reddick was proudly showing off his new 23XI Racing office. The #45 driver kicked things off with a look at his new car, which was in a striking color. He admitted becoming quite fond of the blue and green gradient, especially on his racing number.

The 23XI Racing driver also confessed that he managed to see the car in its full glory. Then he realized that he nearly did a Lando Norris and gave away too much, but caught himself in time.

From there, the driver went on to answer several questions from the fans. Chief among them was about who is his favorite driver in NASCAR. He mentioned on his Instagram live, “In NASCAR land, my favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr. I got to drive for him, so that was pretty cool.” Reddick revealed that in his opinion his Xfinity Series test went rather well. So, he was excited to work with the Sam Hunt Racing team.

What else did Tyler Reddick say in his Instagram live?

According to Reddick, the most difficult part was testing in the wet, as the track took a long time to dry out. Reddick also mentioned that he was quite happy with his win at Road America and at the Indianapolis Road Course.

The Indianapolis win stood out because he got a chance to take part in the tradition of kissing the bricks. On an interesting note, he compared preparing for short tracks like the LA Coliseum as opposed to other ovals.

To that end, he simply stated that a lot of tracks that they raced on were a quarter mile long. For him in particular, it reminded him of home, because he grew up racing on tracks that size. The challenge is that the track is tight and it will be tough to maneuver around the cars.

Reddick also acknowledged that Kurt Busch is taking on a role of a mentor to him. He will be eagerly waiting for the new season to kick off this weekend.
