Last year, ARCA Menards driver Gracie Trotter made waves in the NASCAR racing scene. In the 2020 ARCA Series West, she managed to finish third in the championship, taking one win. Admittedly, her first season in the ARCA Menards series has not got off to a good start. On the bright side, the ARCA season has just begun, so she has time to redeem herself.

Recently, she talked about how former NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson congratulated her for her win. Trotter said, “I actually had Jimmie Johnson telling me on Instagram, ‘Congratulations’. So that was pretty cool. Everything kind of just blew up overnight. Not something I’m used to, for sure.”

Now, Trotter will be focusing on seeing out the rest of her season. So far, only two races are done, though she has not broken into the Top 20 in either race. Fortunately, she still has 18 races left on the calendar to improve her standing in the championship. There could also be a slim chance of a NASCAR truck or Xfinity team roping her for a one-off drive.

It is worth mentioning that Trotter was part of the 2020 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development Program. Now, the 2021 edition features Trotter along with Chase Cabre, Nicholas Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, and Isabella Robusto. The sole purpose of this program is to promote diversity in the field of NASCAR.

This not only includes positions as drivers but also in the pit crew and other opportunities for women and minorities. Gracie Trotter has pretty much proven her worth on the track with her solitary win. However, she is still young and her star is just rising.

Who knows, there is a possibility that she could follow in the footsteps of Danica Patrick, Natalie Decker, Jennifer Jo Cobb, and Hailie Deegan. However, Trotter still has to complete her 2021 ARCA Series season. In her interview, she revealed that in the next five years, she hopes to be in the Truck or Xfinity Series.
