Earlier, 23XI Racing driver Kurt Busch announced some startling news. As it happens, he is stepping back from full-time racing in the 2023 Cup Series season. Naturally, his status will have massive repercussions in the 2023 NASCAR driver market. First and foremost, 23XI Racing will recruit Tyler Reddick, far earlier than he was supposed to join the organization.

Additionally, one also has to think about Busch’s sponsor, Monster Energy. Obviously, Monster Energy has been associated with Busch for a long time. Where does Tyler Reddick fit into the equation after the Kurt Busch news?

Meanwhile, Reddick said, “The circumstances resulting in the seat being available are very unfortunate. But I am really excited to start my journey with 23XI Racing one year early!

This is a reference to the fact that Reddick was initially supposed to join the organization for the 2024 season. However, the news now throws a massive spanner in the works. Of course, it probably would not have sat well with Reddick to get his 23XI Racing seat, at the cost of Busch’s career. Unfortunately, these are the cards that have been dealt, so both drivers and 23XI Racing have to work with this.

The big question now is, will Kurt Busch and Tyler Reddick be sharing the same car? Or will the current Richard Childress Racing driver be a full-time driver, and Busch shares his ride with another driver? To make matters even better, he is starting on pole position for the Cup race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Obviously, Busch is still out of action and will not return in the 2022 Cup Series season. Instead, he will most likely prepare himself for the 2023 campaign, if there is one.
