Noah Gragson to Re-Sign With JR Motorsports for the 2022 Xfinity Series Season

Noah Gragson has been in the JR Motorsports stable since the 2019 Xfinity Series season. Now, reports have emerged that the 23-year-old will remain with the outfit for a fourth consecutive season. As always, Gragson will drive the #9 Chevrolet, with Bass Pro Shops, TrueTimber Camo, and Black Rifle Coffee renewing their sponsor contracts.

So far, the Las Vegas native has picked up just two victories, both of which came in 2020. Despite being winless in the 2021 Xfinity Series season, Gragson sits in eighth place in the standings. In other words, he is well on course to reach the playoffs for a third consecutive season.

“Johnny Morris believed in me enough to put Bass Pro Shops on my car to start the 2020 season, and it paid off with victory the first time out,” Gragson said.

“It was special to stand in Victory Lane at Daytona with Johnny right beside me. We still have a lot to accomplish this season but I’m looking forward to battling for a series championship again in 2022.”

How has Noah Gragson performed in his career?

So far, Gragson has plied his trade in the Truck and Xfinity Series, with two wins in each series. In the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series, he managed to finish as the runner-up with Kyle Busch Motorsports. Gragson has largely stuck to the Xfinity scene, racking up 92 career starts, though he does have 47 Truck Series starts to his credit. Aside from his two wins, the driver boasts of 36 top-five and 64 top-10 finishes in the Xfinity Series.

With this being his fourth season, Noah Gragson will be an experienced head in the JRM organization. In other words, he could act as a mentor figure for the likes of Sam Mayer and Josh Berry. 2022 will be Berry and Mayer’s first full-time season in the Xfinity Series. Though it is worth mentioning that the former has reached Victory Lane at Martinsville earlier this year for JR Motorsport.

For now, the driver will be focused on the 2021 Xfinity Series playoffs. It will also be the perfect opportunity to rack up a few wins this season to keep his campaign afloat.
