“She’s Too Embarrassed to Admit That” – Bubba Wallace Reveals the Origin of His Name ‘Bubba’

William Darrell Wallace Jr is well known in NASCAR circles, among the drivers and the fans, as Bubba Wallace. In a recent interview with Anthony Anderson, the 23XI Racing driver revealed where he got the name ‘Bubba’ from. Of course, it is a slightly unusual name, but he explained that there was a hilarious story behind it.

Wallace said, “My sister gave me that nickname the day I was born. We don’t know why, I don’t know if she’ll ever admit why, but we thought it was because she couldn’t say brother.”

Bubba Wallace will be keen to finally grab a win this season

Last year, he stunned many when he seized victory at the Talladega Superspeedway. However, some felt that he did not deserve the win as it was a rain-shortened race. In the minds of the haters, there would always be an asterisk to that Talladega triumph.

So the 23XI Racing driver will be eager to try and prove them wrong and get his own back. Fortunately for him, he seems to perform exceptionally well at superspeedways. Given that there are still a few of them on the calendar before the Playoffs, there is a chance.

With teammate Kurt Busch winning at Kansas, the pressure may have ramped up a little for the #23 driver. This is because Busch’s win has proven that the car is capable of winning.

So Bubba Wallace has very few excuses to not join his partner as a fellow race winner. Currently, he sits in 22nd place with a season-best finish of 2nd at the Daytona 500.

Owing to that result, it is clear that the driver has been putting in the effort to get that elusive win.
