Ty Gibbs Makes a Brave Vow After Beating Defending NASCAR Champion Kyle Larson at Road America

Ty Gibbs might not be the cleanest driver in the Xfinity series. But he sure is quick! And once again at Road America, he put a grand display of his pace as he defeated the defending champion, Kyle Larson. But, that’s not all, Gibbs made a bold vow after the race.

In the post-race interview, someone asked Ty Gibbs the all-important question, “Are you looking at trying to redeem yourself? So when you do come into the cup series you know, get the kind of respect that you want to have at NASCAR’s top?”

To which, Gibbs responded by vowing to be the best driver. He said, ” I just want to learn and be the best driver I can be. And I want to be the best driver ever and that’s what it takes. So, I got to learn that to you know, make another step you know to the top of the mountain.”

Kyle Larson Appreciates Ty Gibbs’ Driving At Road America

Ty Gibbs’ race at Road America surely had a lot of eyes on him. But arguably, the most sought-after driver on the grid was the 2021 Cup Series Champion, Kyle Larson, who the Joe Gibbs Racing driver beat to take the win!

Larson said, “(Gibbs) did a good job of getting me to have to kind of change my angles up there those first couple of corners,” 

Kyle then explained the error he made that Gibbs took advantage of, “Then, I overshot (Turn) 3 just a little bit and wasn’t able to get the wheel turned like I needed, and yeah, he got by.”
