Watch: NASCAR Indianapolis Winner Ryan Newman Reveals ‘Secrets of the Brickyard’

2013 NASCAR Brickyard 400 winner Ryan Newman reveals some interesting secrets about the legendary Indiana Motor Speedway. In the video, Newman was driving in a virtual Indiana Motor Speedway on iRacing.

NASCAR published the video on their website. They wrote, “Ryan Newman took the NASCAR Digital team through a few ‘iRacing’ laps around Indianapolis Motor Speedway and explained how to win there.

In the video, Ryan talks about the key areas of the circuit which can make or break the race. He said, “It’s one of the most demanding race tracks because it’s all about downforce. There are really long straights which means that your Turn 2 and Turn 4 exits are the most important when it comes to getting a lap time.”

He added, “The rumble strips are typically a challenge as you want to get your left side tires as close to those strips as you can”

Ryan Newman holds a very strong record at the legendary circuit. Tomorrow, He will make his 20th Cup race start at IMS. Earlier in 2013, He won the prestigious race and has 13 ‘top-10’ finishes in his career. Notably, eight of those results were in consecutive races.

Ryan talked about the race in a statement posted by Roush Fenway Racing. He said, “Going back home to Indiana is always special to me. And anytime you visit the Brickyard, it’s a special time.

After that, He talked about his last year’s Indy campaign which helped him secure a place in the 2019 NASCAR playoffs. He said, “I’ve been fortunate to win there in the past, and we had a good run last year putting our car into the playoffs last fall.

Additionally, he stated, “We’re excited to have Oscar Mayer back on board, which fits well with the Independence Day weekend and everything it has to offer. We’re looking forward to the challenge and wish a happy July 4 to everyone watching.”
