Watch: NASCAR Driver Denny Hamlin Nascar Blames Kids After Finishing Last in IRacing Event

Ace NASCAR driver and Daytona 500 victor Denny Hamlin finished at the bottom spot in Sunday’s virtual race at Talladega Superspeedway. However, it was definitely not a broken motor or tire issue that destroyed his run. It was a young lady needing some love from her father.

Hamlin finished the race in the last place in a 39-vehicle grid at the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series. He justified the bad result later in a video on Twitter.

Hamlin explained that his 7-year-old daughter, Taylor, walked up to his iRacing racing setup with a remote control. She was asking if they could play with their go-karts. As he tries to wave her off while driving, Taylor hit the power button.

He posted a video of the incident as well, he can be seen shouting, “My screen just went black!”. And Taylor replying “Uh oh,” and slipping away from the scene.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver won the first race in the iRacing Pro Invitational, edging out Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final lap at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. And continued his good run in the other iRacing events as well.

Hamlin contends full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. Toyota Camry and part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving a Toyota Supra, both for Joe Gibbs Racing. He has won over 30 NASCAR Cup Series races. Notably, the Daytona 500 for 2016, 2019, and 2020.

In the virtual race, Hendricks Motorsports’ Alex Bowmen took home the victory in his number 88 car. Whereas, NASCAR veteran Jeff Gordon finished 38th in his Pro Invitational Series debut race. He was involved in multiple incidents throughout the race and would have been last if it wasn’t for Hamlin’s daughter Taylor messing her dad’s race.
