In case you have forgotten, which you probably haven’t, Danica Patrick and Denny Hamlin had one of the most infamous pit road altercations in the history of NASCAR. The image of Patrick charging up to Hamlin, grabbing him by his race suit, and confronting him for wrecking her is something quite difficult to forget.

“What are you doing? Seriously! You did the same f****g thing in practice, you did the same thing, you get on my left rear and it spins me out,” Patrick told Hamlin.

“YOU DID THE SAME THING!”

“Nobody has your back like I (have),” Hamlin replied. He then went on to reason that it happened because she was “loose.” “You were loose entering the corner, so you went up the racetrack,” he added.

“Denny, it happened twice. The same person, the same way,” Patrick fought back while the Joe Gibbs Racing driver maintained his innocence, “I didn’t hit you either way.”

“I didn’t hit you either time.”

What did Denny Hamlin say about his feud with Danica Patrick?

In an interview a year after their altercation, Denny Hamlin revealed that they forgot about the whole thing not long after it happened. He said he understood why she was so mad, but it didn’t take a long time before they were back to being “one big happy family again.”

Even Danica Patrick insisted that while it looked serious in the moment, they were making jokes about it the same night.

“Looking back on it was funny how it all worked out,” Denny Hamlin said. He reasoned the level of her frustration on the fact that it was “her buddy” who wrecked her a couple of times.

“Anytime you are superspeedway racing, we’re messing around with inches here and when you feel like it’s your friend that wrecked you, you get a little bit more upset.”
